On Saturday, 19 September, OXYENERGY joined the Northland Women’s Club at the Bay of Islands Golf Club for its Annual Golden Charity Gala, an evening dedicated to raising funds for the Cancer Society’s new Patient Accommodation Lodge in Whangārei.
The new 20-room lodge will help Northland patients remain closer to treatment, whānau, and essential support during cancer care. Having suitable accommodation near treatment can help reduce some of the practical challenges faced by patients and families who would otherwise need to travel significant distances.
The gala brought the community together around this important project, combining fundraising, conversation, and shared support throughout the evening.
OXYENERGY was proud to support the event as a sponsor. Guests were welcomed with mocktails featuring OXYENERGY SupraDefend, alongside an arrival photo booth that created a warm and engaging start to the evening.
OXYENERGY also contributed an auction package to support the fundraising efforts, while every guest received a gift to take home. These contributions formed part of the wider community effort to help raise funds for the Cancer Society project.
As a brand inspired by Aotearoa, OXYENERGY values opportunities to support the communities that help shape New Zealand. Participating in the Annual Golden Charity Gala provided an opportunity to contribute to an initiative focused on practical care and support for people and families across Northland.
OXYENERGY would like to thank the Northland Women’s Club for organising such a thoughtful and well-run evening. Our sincere thanks go to Chair Darlene Smits and trustees Vanessa Bennett, Hillary Sumpter, Raelene Rankin, and Vivienne Mitchell for their work in bringing the event together.
We also thank Andrew and Charli from the Cancer Society for sharing why the Patient Accommodation Lodge project matters, as well as everyone who contributed so generously throughout the evening.
OXYENERGY is grateful to have been part of an event that brought together community care, generosity, and meaningful support for people and families across Northland.
